Default Help with Epson C88

I just bought a new Epson C88 with the continuous ink supplyand I am having difficulty getting the ink to print vivid. Do I need a color profile or is there something i can change on my own. I am using a conpaq PC.

Which inks are you using? Sublijet or Artainium? If you have ArTainium inks, you need to be printing with the ICC profile. If you have Sublijet inks, you should be print via a power driver.

Normally, a decent company will provide those Profiles with your purchase.
But you have to have the ICC profile, in order for the ink to distribute properly.

I bought my printer and ink off eBay. I have no idea what I am doing and feel like a complete idiot.

ahhh, don't worry about it!

Everybody has a rough time to begin with in one way or another. It's a learning curve and there's no getting around it, but that is why we get paid the big bucks!

Now...you can go to the Sawgrass web site and research the profile. I think it's pretty expensive, not sure. I got mine from Tog when I bought their inks, when they are used up I will have to order the Artanium and get new profiles. (biting nails on that)

Good Luck!

Call sawgrass ink tech support, I believe they sell the artanium profiles for $35.00.

Thanks Mike G. couldn't remember I have ooked at so many web sites, lol. I know one place was selling profiles for like $200 or something couldn't remember if that was sawgrass or not.

DeAnna, this forum is great! When I first got into all of this last year I found this site and everyone helped tremendously, some didn't even know they helped me..but just by reading a lot of the forum I have learned a lot. I worked at a sign shop for a few years, but they didn't do sublimation or t shirts period, so I learned lof from these folks!

Okay, I got my profile from Sawgrass. I am still having trouble getting it to work. I am using photoshop elements 6. Is that not a good program to use?

Hi. From my own personal experience, I used a cheap Epson small format printer fitted with a bulk ink system. I also used cheap ink intended for large format printers as I wanted to try out the system before committing serious money to sublimation.

First point to note is that the colours on the sublimation transfer paper always look duller and slightly different to what they will on the finished substrate.

Second point to note is that both printer drivers and mainstream graphics programs have the capability to modify colour palettes. I always tend to look at how skin tones from a photograph come out, as that is something we all see every day.

The final point to note is that colours will always vary slightly on different materials. The closeness of the weave can effect the light and shadow on an image by a miniscule amount, but can have a significant overall effect on the entire image.

Hope all this helps someone out. Have a good day.

before you print, click print preview, then options at the top, then click Miscellaneous.
check to see that the Artanium UV profile is selected otherwise you are still using the Epson printing profile.
If you do not see the Artanium profile there then you have not installed it right.
