Re: Epson cartridges and ink from overseas Ramsee1,
Have you already tried the chips? The reason why I am asking is because has been know to run different firmware between the products they have in one region (i.e. Japan, Europe, North America,...) to another. Thus, the chips from one region might not work in a printer from another region. The chips you might have gotten could be for the U.S. based printers. But every aftermarket chip I have seen will have problems resetting and has non-genuine ink status (i.e. no ink levels come up on the printer). It has to do with the chips having an encrptyed serial code and when the printer reads the a code that it has seen before it, it will not allow you to reuse it. There are a couple of posts here that talk about this problem with the T-Jet Blazer model that is based off of the 4880 printer. So, if you have a source just for the chips...that actually work...then it would be a good thing.
Let us know.
