Default Help with ink

Hi,
My son is wanting to get setup to print t-shirts for an online group he is on. He is going to go with the Epson 1400 printer using dye sublimation, and have found empty cartidges with always full chips on them. The plan is to get some bulk ink and fill the cartidges, then, when money permits, to go with a bulk ink transfer system.

The main question is where is the best place to purchase dye sub ink? The sites that I have looked at are wanting $120 per color for 120ml of the ink, is there anything else cheaper out there? He doesn't mind going with a smaller amount of ink.

One other question he has is what colors should he use in order to match the printer?

Thanks for your help,

GWFAMI

Default Re: Help with ink

You can find cheaper ink from overseas suppliers, but I wouldn't buy it. I don't know of one person who has, that had good luck with it. Either they can't get the color profile right for their printer, or it's clogged their print heads.
You can either try to find some dye sub filled cartridges on Ebay to avoid a big startup cost. But the bulk ink system is the way to go if you can swing it.
And any website that sells ink will package the colors needed for you printer, if not, just open the lid on yours and the ink colors will be labelled for you.

Hope that helps.
