You might check out http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Heat_T...ktop_Printers/
It's a large and good group of folks, mainly doing heat press t-shirts. They know plenty about what printers are good for different applications there

I have a 1280 because my HP1120C did not work with the MAC. It prints well but the ink doesn't go very far. I now use the generic inks and that works just fine because of the mileage you get. I also have an Epson 2000P for archival printing, which I like so much better. If I had to do it over, I would get a more expensive wide formatter and be done with it.

So do you use the 2000p for shirt transfers? Does it need special ink?
