Correct me if Im wrong.

Is Dye Sublimation the same as using a Heat Press and Plastisol Transfer, but instead using some sort of Sublimation paper?

Educate me.

Dye Sub-IS a process that uses special paper and ink on polyester fabric or coated products. The design is printed on a piece of paper (mirrored image) and placed on a suitable substrate. Then you press at 400 degress.When the ink is heated to the optimum temp it turns into a gas and permiates the substrate to leave the design on the substrate. That all being said dye sub is a great process,but is not always as easy as plastisol transfers would be. The plastisol transfer is a screen printed transfer printed on paper in (mirrored image) and then put on with a heat press too.They are 2 seperate process' used to accomplish apparel decoration. The dye sub process is more versiatle for non fabric substrates. Ihope this helps... Good luck... JB

coeds. sounds like u know ur stuff!... so two questions for u, pls

1/ do dye sub and/or plastisol transfers allow you to place a white print on a black shirt???

2/ u mention dye sub only works on polyester fabric or coated products. how about plastisol transfers? can u use them on cotton?

Curious,

Dye sub process is using dyes - you can not dye dark fabric lighter colour, so you can't do white design on a dark shirt.

You can use plastisol transfers on cotton.

Thanks for answering D.EVO. You hit it right on the head.Dye sub is for light colored polyester ans p[lastisols can be used on all types of fabrics-100% cotton,50/50,polyester,organics, etc. I think plastisol transfers are by far the easiest, and most versitle transfer on the market for apparel decoration. ...JB
