Default teflon skirt and color loss

I'm having problems with color loss in my printed images on poly fabric and it seems to occur in the same area of the press - which happens to be the middle to bottom half. I am using a teflon skirt that wraps around the bottom platen. It appears to have wrinkles, creases, and ripples in it and I was wondering if that is normal for these creatures and aslo if that was causing the color loss.

Is your press new?
Is this a swing-away or clam shell press?
How is the rubber mat? No low spots? Check with a straight edge.
Is your upper plate clean?
Have you tried using more pressure?
Use a teflon pillow. (wellingtonhouse.com)

yes the press is new and it is a swing away.
I have varied the pressure some always keeping it on the light side.
