Is there any reason to put mugs into waters after transfer is on?
Hi.
I would to know when a transfer has been put onto the mug using a mug press, does dropping the mug in water matter?
If so why?
What is the reason for dropping the mug in the water?
What temp does the water have to be?
Sorry about all the questions but im curious thats all.

No water for me either. I set them on a cookie sheet in front of a small fan. The reason that most dunk them in water, is to stop the sublimation process. If you do it this way, make sure the water isn't too cold, because the impending shock wouldn't be good for the mug.

true. I was having some issues with Ghosting (I think that is what people called it) so the supplier suggest I gave them a water bath straight out of the oven. I was told it stops the transfer process. Even when you take it out of the oven, until it cools, it will still transfer (making the ghost effect) if there is the slightest movement of the paper and pressure.
It did work well for a few of my project. But yes, I did get a few with hairline fractures and some that had full on big cracks!

Only time I've done that is usually when the customer is there waiting for the mug. Too cold of water will cause cracking due to temperature differences with the instant cooling. Normally I just leave em sitting on a desk or something until they air cool.
