Hello All,
We do embroidery, heat transfer vinyl and inkjet transfers. We want to get into sublimation.
I have a Epson 1400 with a inkjet CISS. Works fine!
Can I flush this system and replace the Inkjet inks with 1400 compatible sublimation inks?

Yes you can. When I bought my 1400 and the dye sub bulk ink setup, they recommended getting the printer working using the standard ink cartridges first, then replacing the cartridges with the bulk dye sub inks.

This was my thought also, that it would work.

Now as far as filling my CISS reservoirs with sublimation inks, In my brief browsing for inks I see alot of them sold in bags(for a different CISS) can the inks from these bags be removed and put into my reservoirs or am I better off finding larger quantities in bottles?

Does anyone have personal recommendations on inks?

For sublimation inks, you are pretty much limited to Sawgrass since they own the patent on it as far as I know. I'm not sure how you would transfer the inks from the bags to cartridges, probably be pretty messy. The system I have uses bags, you could probably buy the CIS system seperately from the inks. You will probably save some money by buying a package deal with the CIS, inks and the power driver you need for the 1400.
