Default sublimated colors not the same as on screen

Hi,

I have a Ricoh GX 5050. I set it up with the ICC profile recommended by Conde but the colors never come out the same as what I see on screen. Right now I am working on a MouseMates mouse pad and the colors are coming out horrible, very muddy and with a yellowish cast. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Deborah

Colors will not print the same as you see them on the screen. In fact monuitors display the same RGB values differently. Go to Best Buy - look at all the HD TVs lined up. They will all be on the same channel but the picture will look very different on each display. PC monitors are the same. You need to have color swatches in which one can select colors.

It also sounds that if you are getting muted colors that you do not have your profile set correctly or possibily did you graphic file in CMYK instead of RGB which will in fact mute out your colors and provide poor blacks.

Thanks for the information about the CMYK. I totally did not think aobut that. What I did was import a photograph into Corel and put a border around it. I'm pretty sure I used CMYK at least for the border. But what about the photograph? How do or can I change it? It was an imported GIF file. My Epson prints the colors more true to life and the laser printer is pretty good also, just not the Ricoh.

You do not change the photograph. The best bet is to call Conde and make sure all your "color management" options are set corectly in Corel Draw and you are in fact using the right ICC profile in color management. Also need to have them walk through the correct settings for the printer. One thing off will throw the colors out the door. Once your printer and Corel are set up correctly you really should have incredible results and not have to worry about things again.

Thanks for your help. I will call Conde again for help. Especially since my other two printers print the colors I want.

Thanks!
