I just tried the fastcolor pretreatment on a few white shirts , but the area where the pretreatment has been applied turned into yellow box on all Shirts. There is also no visible improvment on the gashability.
How can i avoid this yellowish stain on the shirt?
Perhaps you are using too much pretreatment? I've talked to a company that sell pretreatment and they told me that the solution cannot stain the shirt, yet if you look at the solution it is not clear but dark yellow in color thus it is conceivable that it could stain the shirt. Also, some brand of shirts tend to yellow more than others, we use Alstyle and these shirts tend to yellow slightly. I have not found a shirt that I am completely satisfied and the search continues.
In terms of washability, it is improved versus without. However, after 10 or so washes the ink still fades and this is not due to fibers sticking up. Keep in mind on shirts we tested we don't wash inside out, cold water but this is how some people tend to wash their garments. I have shirts that have a faded about 40% after 15+ washes using the pretreatment.
i will try to apply less fastcolor , all 3 white shirts i have tried so far are looking very bad ( full yellow box )
after i applying the pretreatment , i pressed each shirt at 170 deg.celsius for 10 with paper and for 10 seconds without. the stain is only visible after washing and (sun)drying the shirts.
i tried pretreating with less fastcolor but there is still a yellow box after washing/drying. should i try diluting the pretreatment with destilles water?
Try a light mist of FastColor and cure for 5 seconds at 330 degrees. The shirt should not be soaked. It doesnt take much. Cure print for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
I just wanted to check real quick with a question. Are you sure you are using fast color and not fast bright? This could make a big difference as I know that the fast bright does stain. Both of these are light shirt pretreatments, but one will usually not stain (fastcolor) and one can have a tendency to stain (fastbright).

Maybe there is too much pretreat left in the fibers after the first wash and that is reacting to the sun. Try washing twice and drying out of direct sunlight.
Only some of the pretreats have UV protection. This was posted in another thread:
you may want to be careful using the Pretreatment #1 on ash colored shirts in the future. Once the print hits sunlight any area that is pretreated will turn a yellowish color. I would recommend the FastBright instead. Here is what the different pretreats are & their uses are.
• FastINK Pretreatment is specifically designed for use on Dark colored garments, allowing for extremely bright Whites and vibrant colors. FastINK Pretreatment should only be used with medium to dark colored garments due to possible discoloration of light shirts when exposed to direct sunlight. • FastBRIGHT Pretreatment works extremely well with light colored garments and images that have an Underbase. Using FastBRIGHT creates vibrant images with rich, deep Blacks and Reds that will not discolor when exposed to direct sunlight. • FastCOLOR reduces cure times while GREATLY increasing the color brilliance and wash ability of your print. This pretreatment is designed for use with images on light colored shirts with NO White ink.
There is a new pretreatment that has been out for months. It is from the same makers of the dark pretreatment but has a new formula that can be used on any color of shirt and will not turn yellow in the sunlight. This will eliminate using the other two pretreatments.

Bill,
What is it called?
Thanks,

With US Screen out of business and the secret formula for Fast Color locked away in a vault in SC I would suggest you try different brands of pre-treatment. We have had folks us the white ink pre-treatment on their white shirts with good results.
After washing the same shirts 2 more times there is no more stain left.
So i bought a Wagner Spraygun to see if it could help to avoid the stain on
the shirt , and YES , obviously i have been putting too much pretreatment on the
shirt.
