Default Error Eject Lights nightmare

Can someone please help me fix my DTG Kiosk2 printer. I was having problems with the error eject light and ink lights flashing (in sync)....

I installed new encoder strip and new ribbon cable. Printer printed fine for awhile, but I notice there is a drag on the tray bed when I hit load. It will go all the way in and then when it comes forward to set itself there is a loud hum for about 5 seconds and then it sets itselft for printing.

I was able to print 22 shirts and then all of a sudden right in the middle of a print I get the error eject light flashing along with ink lights. I cleaned the rollers on the tray bed but still no luck printing. After 4 tries I gave up.

Please advise on any fixes I might try

Thanks,

Terry

You should check the yellow board on the bottom of the tray. Remove it and clean it and then make sure it is snug when you reinstall it. Sounds like you are getting a drag in the Y-axis which is causing the error eject issue. Call your distributor's tech support department and they can provide you with info on how to remove the board.

Hope this helps!

Don-

Is removing this yellow board easy enough for one person to do? I am the only one able to be lugging on the machine unless I call in a neighbor.

Is there a video somewhere so I dont have to wait for anyone to call me back?

TIA-
Moose

Hi Moose,

Sorry for missing this, I was on vacation and am just getting caught up. The process is pretty simple and can be done by one person. First try loosening the screws that hold the board on one end and snugging the board up then retightening. This cures the problem in many cases.

Hope this helps!

Here is a pdf instruction sheet on removing and cleaning the yellow print bed sheet. The instructions are for a T-Jet 2 printer and since the Kiosk printer is a twin of the T-Jet all the instructions will apply.

Actually the T-Jet 2 was the precursor to the Kiosk as there were a number of improvements implemented in the Kiosk and Kiosk II that were not incorporated into the T-Jet 2

Since the bed tray mechanisms are exactly the same on the T-Jet 2 and the Kiosks you can use the pdf instructions I attached for removing and cleaning the yellow feed sheet.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but my printer is having the exact same problem. Cleaning both sides of the bed tray did not fix it though, and I'm wondering if this fixed the original poster's problem.

Are your error eject lights and your ink lights both flashing?

Yep, in sync.

Edit: Also have cleaned the encoder strip, oiled the guide rails, and cleaned the bed rollers.

Did you try resetting your waste tank counter?

Here are instructions for resetting the counter on the T-Jet 2 printer, which is similar to your Kiosk printer:

Yep, did that too. ;D

This thing has been giving me trouble since the moment I inherited it. I'm about ready to cut my losses and sell it for parts. Is there any sort of market for that? It's sitting there with a brand new print head, ribbon cable, encoder strip.

Some times my waste counter will not reset so I unplug both the power cable and the computer cable for about 3 minutes then power back up this will solve my problem.
