Default printing underlay but no top color

I have a document created in Illustrator that is white lettering on dark shirts. It also has a red dot on it. The white underlay is printing using Color layer Automask but the lettering isn't printing. I used 4 % C so that it wouldn't be white but it still won't print the color. Any ideas? I am supposed to print this project this weekend. I still have a full time job and have to do most of my work on the weekends. Thanks if you can offer suggestions.

Convert the white letters to pure white and put a black background on the whole image - print using Color Layer Automask (Black Background) - be sure to choose No Black Ink, No Underbase for black ink.underbase behaviour.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response. I am obviously a newbie at this. I got some help from support and they told me how to use the hard mask option. The look great now. Thanks so much for this additional option.
