Hello everyone. Do you know if there is an actual difference between the Kiosk 1 and the Kiosk 2? Some websites such as dtgdigital.com simply calls them the kiosk, with out making any difference between the 1 and the 2. Others such as swfeast.com and dtgamerica.com talk about the kiosk 2 but make no reference to a kiosk 1. I have read 2 user manuals, one for a kiosk with CMYK plus light CMY (no white ink) and another one referred to as "Kiosk with white ink". A user once told me that the Kiosk 1 would not use white ink. But from what I gather from both manuals, they are the exact same machine, right? So that means that any kiosk 1 should be able to handle white ink by using rippro version 0.2 right? And that would turn a kiosk 1 into a kiosk 2, right? Thanks

The Kiosk 1 was the first generation of Kiosks. It had valves to shut off the ink to each channel/color, had no wims system! The Kiosk 2 did away with the valves to shorten the ink supply system, also had a later addition of a wims board to run white ink (all inks) through the head at a set interval to help with white ink issues. Hope this helps you out!

Thanks Brian. Indeed I just checked the user manual for the kiosk 2 from SWFeast.com and the removal of the valve system appears to be all that changed between the 1st and second generations. About WIMS, I believe that this systems were added later as a modification but this wasn't a part of the original design. So I only have one question to answer, can a kiosk 1 be used/converted to print white ink? Thanks

Yes, you can run white ink with a Kiosk 1.
