Unlock HM1 Print Head from Capping Station (manually)?
I'm sure this is simple but I cant figure out how to do it... my encoder strip is dirty and the print head is "confused" and its trying to ram the side the capping station is on. I can't get it to unlock from the capping station with the eject button to clean the part of the encoder strip that's under the print head. Is there a way to do this manually without turning the printer on? When I turn it on it makes a really loud horrible noise because the motor is ramming the print head on the side of the machine.

Take the rubber gromit out from the front right hand side of the case (or take the front of the case off ). To the right, there's a small hole with an arrow pointing anticlockwise - inside you can see a fitting for a flathead screwdriver.
Put gentle pressure on the print head to push it out into the centre of the machine while turning the screwdriver anticlockwise - this will release the printhead. Make sure that the wiper blade is back down and the capping station is in its lowered position before pushing the print head on - then turn the machine back on. (you did turn it off before doing this, didn't you?
Also make sure your encoder strip is really clean.

Well, you have the SWF East guys to thank for making those vids Looks like they might have made a full training DVD - I relied on one of their vids for some flushthrough instructions, so they came in SUPER useful. (@ SWF East guys - is the DVD available to us fellow DTG owners who have purchased from other distributors, e.g. ourselves from YES in the UK?)
Don't forget to power the machine back up and let the print head rehome itself on top of the capping station after you're done fiddling - if you leave it and go home / forget about it, you'll get dried out capping station, print head and blocked lines major bad times!
