Need to Register?

I've been printing on dark shirts with just white ink and don't see a difference when the second pass of white is printed. Is the 2nd pass needed? If not, it sure would speed up my production...

I'm using Rip Pro V4, what would be the setting to eliminate the 2nd pass...that is if it is not needed.

If you have correct pre-treatment and printing at 1440dpi white layer, you shouldn't ever need a 2nd layer of white.

When doing your settings to go through to rip pro, just set the white ink res to 1440. If you think it looks good when the 1440 layer goes through, you should be good to go. The amount of passes doesnt make a whole lot of difference when your already printing at 1440. Good Luck!

How many channels of white does you print have?

My Kiosk 2 has three channels...

I guess I was thinking the first pass was the underbase and the second was adding more of the white color on the top.
Is there a setting to just do one pass or will I have to delete the second color pass in the Rip pro software?

You should just make sure that when enter the settings that they say

white pass 1
color pass 1

and maybe even try the white setting at 720 dpi, that might look good as well and it will cost even less. If you want more white just up the white setting back to 1440. =)
