Hi guys,

I had a problem today doing a white ink layer and was wondering if anyone had seen this.

I started the day by doing a cleaning of the machine, including the encoder strip. About an hour later, I started the first job. I was printing a white ink layer on a pre-treated blue shirt. The printer started laying down black ink at the beginning, and slowly changer over to white ink as it moved down the shirt. I figured the shirt was ruined, so just out of curiosity, I re-ran the shirt as a production run. This time, white ink was laid down the entire job, probably saving the shirt.

Any thoughts on why this happen?

Make sure your capping station is clean and performing properly. A dirty capping statin can cause some bleeding back into the printhead - ultimately causing a contaminatin in the dampers, which will print out after a bit. This sounds like what is happening with your first print. Also, it helps to keep in the ink level in your white bottles higher than the level in your colors.
