Assuming you are comparing apples to apples (same model of printer) then you are probably at the high end of what the printer is worth without all the extras that come with a new machine. A 2 year old, used machine will most likely need an entire ink delivery system, which will cost you at least $700, maybe more. Most of the units we see that are resold on the open market either have no software (RIP) or have no validations left, this can cost you from $150-1000 depending on whether you can purchase new validations or the entire package. It will also not include training or support which are vital to your success with the machine. Most
DTG distributors offer support packages which vary by duration and included minutes and training, typically between $500 and $1000 for a full year contract.
This should help you do the math on the value you are getting in a used machine.
