Thinking about buying a Kiosk 2...unless you can talk me out of it
I am looking to get a DTG printer. I did a few dye sub shirts for a guy who complained. He showed me some shirts he had done with a DTG printer, and my dye sub stuff definitely was inferior. I would like the ability to print on dark shirts, so I am thinking about going with a DTG Kiosk II.
With Fast T-Jet going bankrupt, it looks like DTG is emerging as the most popular and the Kiosk II being a cheap enough printer where I can afford it, but still having the white ink for black printing.
Is there any downfall to the Kiosk II, or is there any better option?

I believe the only Kiosk's you can find now are used and/or refurbs? I'm sure Don will probably chime in as well as other owners.
We've gotten ours to print decently. Getting the shirts to hold up to repeated washings is another story... I haven't done enough yet to definitively say if it's us or the ink yet. We did a couple at the training session we attended and the prints are coming apart on them as well after 5-10 washes so I have my doubts.

Ted is correct about Kiosk II"s only being available in used/refurb units. They are a good machine for the money, with nearly 2000 sold, parts are easy to source for them and they print a good white layer. I would consider them a good first machine if your main driving force is pricing.

I would tend to agree with djnorton since I have had numerous problems with the Kiosk and likely out of business because I tried to build around an inconsistent piece of machinery. I may have a minority experience but the results have been devastating. I also had some tech support issues as well. You may want to read my post " You may want to record conversations with the Tech Support."
When working properly, seems to work pretty good and quality is decent. My problem has been that I only got 2 months of quality from it out of the 9 months that I've been operating it.

I spent probably hundreds of hours trying to decide if I should buy an HM1. It was extremely frustrating but I finally decided to take the plunge.
Now my machine is now over 2 years old and still prints great. If you see my other post I am having problems with it right now...but I think it was my fault. DTG Mesa always takes great care of us. The machine is not a money pit either. I have been horrible with doing the maintenance since day 1 but it never caused any issues.
If you are looking for a brand new printer, I would highly recommend the HM1

I had a Kiosk II for about 6 months. I probably did around 1200 prints on it and it worked great. I still have some shirts that my kids wear and they look great after many washings. I eventually sold mine and went back to heat transfer just because for me it seemed just as well. I only really print on white.

I would love to have the problem of too much work. What kind of advertising have you done to get that kind of response?
Re: Thinking about buying a Kiosk 2...unless you can talk me out of it
I've got the Kiosk, bought it off ebay for half price.
Had quite a few issues with it but have worked through the bugs and got it working consistently now...(with the help of some scotch tape and loose parts[dont ask])
My first supplier of tees tended to peel quite alot thus fading the print relatively quickly. However, I've just sourced a new supplier whose prints hold up remarkably well.
