Default stops printing in the middle of the shirt and moves downward

The dtg Machine quits in the middle of the shirt and moves all the way to the bottom, but it almost leaves a zig zag effect with part of the design as it goes down. Tried restarting the computer as well as unplugging the machine for 5 minutes as well as making sure the powerque was cleared. any answers?

Thanks

Josh

I would try cleaning the encoder strip. Sometimes if it is dirty, it will cause erratic behavior

Bobbie's is a good suggestion.

Is this happening on every shirt you print or just this one time and now you can't get it to print at all?

Try checking the encoder wheel on the far side form the control panel, sometimes it gets dirty and effects the y movement of the machine.

Please let me know exactly where this encoder wheel is and how to get to it.

Thanks

The encoder wheel is on the left side of the printing head mechanism, under the "spit tank" - you need to remove the cover to see it there, it is round and looks like it is made of the same material as the encoder strip.

Be very careful cleaning the encoder wheel. Use a soft cloth with some Windex sprayed on it. Wipe the wheel gently. It has a pattern printed on it (similar in style to the encoder strip) and you do not want to scratch it. Also blow out any dirt from the sensor that the wheel goes through.

So what was the problem? If you answer this it makes it easier for other to find when they have a problem! This makes the search feature valuable!

Thanks Harry, we couldn't have done it without you!

Now I am having a problem where my DTG starts to print and all of a sudden the head starts just putting out ink. The imagine is perfect until them.
It does not do it all the time.

Could it be a bad USB cable. I changed the head and the ribbon cable.
