Default Curious if Anyone does this or Recommends Doing this?

When cleaning out your Kiosk and replacing the bottles with cleaning solution or distilled water, does anyone pull the dampers off and suck the ink through the lines to save as much ink as possible? Is this something you all would recommend doing instead of just flushing away alot of ink into the waste bottle?

Yes, of course. That's the way I know it should be done, but I'm going on travel for about a week, and I don't see why you couldn't pull the ink in the tubes through the dampers and into a syringe, then back into the ink bottle to save the tube ink. And then put the water and cleaning solution bottles on.

Basically, I would pull the ink bottles off first, and then pull the remaining ink in the tubes out into the syringe. I know this sounds like a lot of effort, but I'm sure there's at least a few dollars worth of ink in the lines. Why not save it?

Sweet man. I'll have to flush my system in the next few days. I'll do it this way then. Thanks.

Actually a good idea, a bit of work, but it does save some ink. Be careful not to drip ink on the top of the prinhead, as it can run down and cause a short and burn the ribbon cable and possibly the printhead and motherboard.

Hope this helps.

might seem obvious, but also make sure you clean out the syringe....you don't want to be mixing inks...
