Default Red 'Halo'

I can't figure this out - when I do a nozzle test, things look alright. When I print, there is a very faint red halo around everything. It's minimal enough that I think I'm the only one who sees it - but it's there. I've done numerous head cleanings, but it's still there. Anyone ever have this happen?

A couple of questions, what type of shirt are you printing on, is your print height right? (sounds like you may be a bit too far off the garment)

Cotton youth size shirts - using a youth platen, with a thin layer of padding underneath the shirt to bring it up to frame height. Maybe I'll add another thin layer and see if that works.

I get that when I do my first couple of prints after I put the ink back in my system. I think the cleaning solution is mixed with the ink in the dampers and diluted the ink and it is fading off the design.

Can you post a picture of what your design looks like? Below is one that shows the halo effect when the platen is too far from the print head (except the bottom mark was a result of a wrinkle in the shirt). Hope this helps you resolve this problem.

If you print on an adult shirt using the adult platen do the prints still have the halo?

Yes, it's just the faintest but it's there.

Try turning the gap OFF and slightly bumping the shirt up one tick with the UP button. See if it improves. If it does your laser may be set a bit low, I've seen this happen in shipping a few times, call tech support and they can walk you through adjusting it.

Hope this helps!
