I would actually suggest the cotton setting and then dial down the ink volume in the printer and ink configuration tab in RIP Pro. Curing the balls could be a challenge, you should probably try hitting them with a blow dryer to get some level of cure on them
Don, Thank you for the suggestions, I like the blow dryer idea...I was thinking of just leaving them under the heat platen and let them cure over time.
Mark, Once they are printed I will post the pictures and settings used.
I would also like to know how these come out. Are you pretreating them the same way you would a shirt? Do you do the same with golf balls? Looking to tap into that market.
OK, sorry for the delay, three different t-shirt orders came in at the same time...that's the life of an on demand t-shirt printer though. : )
I printed these using the Rip V4 software. The settings were vivid darker, light cotton and unidirectional print. (One pass, whenever I tried two passes the print seemed blurry.) I also used the golf ball platen to hold the tennis ball. *No pre treatment or post treatment. I cured one with a blow dryer and the other two just sitting under the hot platen, both ways work. Before printing I also trimmed some of the long tennis hairs away from the print area.
I should mention the tennis coach I'm working with loved these and may either have me print logo's or names with win loss records, etc...
A negative pointed out to me is team players need to have the balls fresh out of the pressurized can, to me playing tennis with a ball that has been in my garage for years works fine. (but then again I stink at tennis!) So for the team players these balls would be more of a memento than something they'd play with, BUT all of the players including the coach are excited at the possibilities.
Note: The balls look better in person, the camera tends to make the print not look as filled in or detailed.
Awesome man, thanks for posting them. I think they look good. If they complained about that their crazy. BTW do you notice a big different from RipPro V.3 to V.4? What is the difference?

I'm a newbie and started out January this year with V4, so I've had no experiences with V3. So far everything has been running great, Kiosk 2, Rip Pro V4, Adobe Creative Suite 4 and any question that I've asked has been answered.
As an FYI - the manufacturer of RIP Pro has now discontinued support for V.03 - meaning no more updates will be made to that version. All updates will now be on V.04 only.
