Default white underbase issues

hi printing people

i have been reading these forums for a while and have found many great tips.

i purchaased a hm1 several months ago and am having a bit of difficulty in printing white underbase.

ive played around with many of the settings, but cant seem to get it to lay down the right amount of white ink.

printpro software
1440x1440
droplet size -variable2
nozzle checks are all good

this setting doesnt lay enough ink, even with 2 coats its not quite enough, but 2880x2880 is way to much.

is there any other software that might allow for more variables in settings?

any suggestions would be extemely appriciated

thanks
brad

Hi Brad I am not familiar with printpro as I use rip pro. I have heard of a few changing over to rip pro as it had a few more options then print pro. If you are able to get ahold of it there, I would look into it, just not sure its available in AU.

Does the print pro have any slider adjustments for the amount of ink that is laid down. For instance on Rip pro I can adjust it from 100% down, to allow me to adjust how much ink is layed down per layer. So I am able to adjust the dpi, and the amount of ink in a percentage. Does this make sense the way I am explaining it?

You say you are having problems with the white underbase, are you sure your pretreatment is good? One good way to check, is to over pretreat a shirt, with too much, then print a white layer and see if is more solid(this is only to test your white layer, and not meant to do on a regular basis). If so then the pretreatment might need to be adjusted. If its still light, and the 2880 is to much, then I dont have an answer because I am not sure on the settings on your program.

I would definately look to see if rip pro is available to you though, its a really great program.

ive recently spoken to grant/adrenaline who also uses printpro.

i wasnt aware that you could adjust the amount of ink to come out as well as resolution and droplet size.

printing with 2880x1440 with underbase level set from 255 to about 238 seems to print perfect in one layer. it is fairly think however as i am mainly printing on cotton fleece used to make hooded sweaters.

thanks for you suggestions but i think this has sorted me out on this issue
