Default Ink problem

Help! I was running some shirts and the black faded out. I cleaned everything, ran a check and no black ink. I flushed the black line- it was running through but about half speed compared to usual. Ran another check, no black. I checked the damper was seated properly. I filled the capping station with cleaning solution and left the head seated overnight. In the am, the red ink had backed up into 2 of the 3 white ink bottles. I replaced those 2 bottles, primed and ran a few head cleanings, and when I print a check sometimes I get a few black lines and the top half of the text line, then run another cleaning and get no black at all. I have ordered new dampers but they havent arrived yet. What else should try? I read where getting the head wet might cause a short, how much water would cause that and how could I diagnose that? Other colors seem fine... Any ideas would be much apreciated!!!!

Sounds like damper may be clogged! Also make sure that the connection of the line to the damper is tight and the O ring isn't damage! I also am assuming that you made sure the vent hole wasn't blocked in the ink bottle!

Well, I ended up taking my printer to Equipment Zone to have it serviced Friday. The print head needed replacing. I also saw their EZ Pro Bulk system in operation with a DTG, and decided to switch. A lot less tubing, more straightforward system. I bought the system and the FastInk too. Took the printer home, and got it set up quickly. I did have trouble with 2 of the cartridges not priming, and Friday at 10pm left an email for EquipmentZone begging for quick assistance. I actually got a call back in 15 minutes! I was able to get the printer operational, and printed the 50 shirts I had due today!
SUPER DUPER THANKS Equipment Zone for getting me back in production!
So far, I really like the EZ Pro system.

As a person who has used both inks (DTG & FastInk), which do you like better?

I have used the DTG inks for the past year, and just switched to the Fastink. So far, I really like the Fastink- the colors are great, and they seem to wash well. I have been using them for about 2 weeks and run about 800 shirts so it may not be soon enough to say for sure but so far, I like the FastInk. Of course at the same time I replaced my bulk ink system and print head so.....

check the air hole, that seems to be what helps push the ink though the lines
