Help I have just installed new print head, new dampers, filled my ink lines and looked to see if dampers are working. They are I have done multiple head cleans and am not getting any ink when I do a nozzle check. What else could it be.
You may have improperly installed the ribbon cable leading into the printhead. I'm assuming that when you do a head cleaning that the head is firing ink into the capping station, so it is most likely not a printhead issue.
Hope this helps!
Well, if you have primed the new printhead with ink (you say you filled the lines), it's obvious you have ink flow. I have a question. Did the printhead got wet with water, cleaning fluid or ink in any point of the process? If so, maybe you've got a short-circuit and you should replace the mainboard. Hope I'm wrong.
if using a ciss (bulk ink system) have you still got the bungs in the top . if yes, then the pressure build up will stop the ink flow - remove bungs and you will be ok
Were you getting any ink flow before replacing the printhead and dampers, or was this the reason for replacement? Thanks
Hi, I am replying for May, She is out of town right now. I am her sister Joy, I have two DGT's and have replaced print head a couple of times without a problem.
no she wasn't getting ink flow. we have just moved into a new store and when she went to print, her white in was jelled in her bottles so we cleaned the whole system and cleaned the lines. Put in the new head and new dampers. we are getting ink in the capping station but no ink when trying to print. I took out the printhead and checked the conections they were fine. So any advice would be helpful. Thanks Joy

We made sure that there was no liquid around when we were putting in the head.
Thanks, Joy
Ok if you are getting ink in the capping station, I am assuming its doing headcleans? Mine did this exact same thing, it would do headcleans but no ink when printing. I would first check your ribbon cables, look on the ends for any scorch marks. Its either going to be one or both of your ribbon cables, or your main board. On mine it was my main board, but its much cheaper trying to first replace the ribbon cables. If that does not work, it may be your main board.
If its not doing even head cleans, then I do not know what it would be, possibly the capping station or pump assembly But since you say its getting ink in the capping station, I am assuming that it is also doing cleans.

Thanks for the reply, Yes it will suck ink when doing a head clean but just won't print when when asked to print after the head clean. I think you might be right about the cable. I have already checked the cable twice but I think we are going to have to try changing it out. I hope it's not the mother board Thanks.
Is the printhead moving like its printing, but no ink coming out? That is what mine did. If it is going thru the motions but not printing, you can bet its either the cable or board.

yep thats right, head moving but no ink.
I'm going to take it apart again tomorrow. Thanks, I will let you know how it go's. I had the same problem with my printer a year ago. But I can't remember how I fixed it. But I do know that I didn't buy anything other than the print head. I think maybe it fixed itself LOL. (Wishfull thinking) It was probuly the cable. I will let you know how it go's. Thank you again.
If you have put in a new print head and your printer goes through all the normal motions but NO ink at all is printing out then it normally always is either the print head ribbon cable or the main board. First make that the cable is inserted firmly into the print head. If it is and you are still getting no ink then I would put in a new ribbon cable. They're not that expensive and you definitely want to rule that out before buying a new main board, which is definitely expensive.
WOW, this is a great forum. I have learned so much that wasn't covered when I bought my unit. I've had it over a year and haven't learned about my machine other than replacing parts. I have a fulltime job and this was suppose to be a side business in which I would do it for fun but it has been a pain in the behind. From the first time I started it up, I tried operating it without watching all the videos. I did watch a few but not all. I had problems with priming the unit, then I had problems printing. I still haven't learned to print good white ink. I made the biggest mistake in leaving ink in it for 2 weeks. I thought my fiance was going to be there to flush the unit but that didn't happen. I had to replace the printer head due to clogging and in doing so, I shorted out the printer head and cable. Be very careful in making sure you replace them the same way (blue markings facing each other). That will short out the ribbon and the printer will act funny even if you replace the printer cable, the head might have been shorted out and will not function properly afterwards. Recently I've had a different problem. The carriage would slam against the opposite side of the unit and when it didn't, the indicator lights would all flash as if there was a job sent to the queue. I cleaned the encoder strip but that didn't help. After looking closely, I found where it had scratches on the encoder strip so I replaced it. I haven't had a chance to try it out since replacing it so I look forward to seeing what new problem I'll have when I get home. I also found out that you can not do an alignment unless you have all the tubes filled with ink, none can have white ink. So when I get home, I will be asking for assistance with priniting white ink. I feel I know how to tear the unit apart but I want it to work.
