I suffer the same problem with the Kiosk. I've done head alignments, nozzle checks and they still appear especially at 720dpi and below.

The problem is the nozzles not alignment properly. When you print red it lays down the yellow but the magenta doesn't lay down at the exact location so the yellow shows through. I think the reason why I cant fix this problem is that I cant do the 2nd and 3rd test in the Epson print alignment utility.

If anyone has suggestions to fix this up it will be great!

Zhenjie,

This may help.

On a dual CMYK machine, 720 dpi will print a solid colour very well. 360x720 will show up lines similar to this problem.

On a CMYK and white machine, 720 dpi may not actually put down enough ink to fill in the solid colour. Remember, if you have white ink set up you are only really getting half of the coloured ink down compared to running 7 or 8 channels of colour.

If you have 720x1440 available or 1440x1440, run a test in that mode and see if it fixes.

I've seen this prob quite a few times - higher res seems to fix it a lot easier than any other fiddling will do.

Hey Jay, yes most definitely. The problem really only shows up on white ink prints because the underbase is more opaque then a white t-shirt. I do 1440dpi if I really have to fix the banding but I tend to stay away from it as much as possible especially if I cant get the color to match.

Wish there was a solution that would fix it at 720DPI. My issue only seems to happen to with colors that require magenta (red, purple, etc)

I have a HM1 and have never had this problem. Are you all using Rip pro? That is what software I have, I am wondering if it is a software issue.

EE,

I would soak the head in cleaning fluid for 20 odd minutes, and then try a power clean and see if the problem persists.

You might just need to get the ink flowing strongly for a little while.

Hello: I just posted a thread on a similar type problem. If you have found the answer please let me know. My white shirts turn out great, but when I try to print on a dark shirt my red ink looks faded before pressing and orange in color and I have seen the yellow you have noticed. I have an HM1 and print with 1440 x 720, I've tried medium density and same as color, we are pulling our hair out watching as another shirt goes down the drain. My reds just don't turn out red. If anyone out there has a solution I would be so grateful. Thanks!
