I really need some help this morning. I called SWF and they are looking into this, they haven't been able to fix yet just yet. They said I might have to reinstall RIP PRO.
When I try to print, RIP PRO renders, the print goes through and then the KIOSK II basically ejects and the platen moves to the front, nothing printed.
It stopped in the middle of a job this morning and hasn't worked since but then when I was speaking to the REP. from SWF it did decide to print on its own a print job from two hours past. So, I know the inks aren't clogged or anything like that.
I have turned off the machine, retarted my computer, unplugged and plugged my USB and nothing.
Re: please help!! DTG ejecting before print happens
Hi Nabs,
I beleive you are working with our tech Chad right now, but for the rest of the viewing public I will run through the things I would suggest.
1. Verify that the proper driver is being used in RIP Pro (ie that it is using the Kiosk w/ white ink and not HM-1)
2. Try printing something using the Epson 2200 driver to help determine whether it is a machine or software issue
3. If it does the same thing with the Epson driver, try deleting the Epson driver, downloading the latest one from the Epson site and try again
4. If it doesn't do it with the Epson driver, remove RIP Pro and reinstall
5. If it does come down to hardware it is most likely related to the drive board on the bottom of the bed or the sensor that reads it. Tech support can help to trobleshoot these issues
Re: please help!! DTG ejecting before print happens
Hi Don,
Thanks. Yes, Chad and I have already done I, 2 and 3, nothing.
Can't we check into the hardware issue before reinstalling RIP PRO? I know if I do an install of RIP, I only have one more before I have to purchase a install license again ( for $250) and I just purchased the kiosk in October. If it isn't the RIP that is a reinstall wasted?
Re: please help!! DTG ejecting before print happens
I find that when printing, I always convert to bitmap before I print as it seems to feed quicker through the rip software that way, for some reason my machine does not like actually printing vectors. Then when I am done printing I just go to edit and undo the conversion before resaving my file.

Vector masks can be like voodoo when it comes to postscript (which is what your graphic software creates when you print to a RIP). Add Coreldraw to the mix and bad mojo can really happen!!!!
Glad you're fixed!
By the way, as long as you don't delete the RIP Pro info in the Windows registry (which you would need to do intentionally!) and install the same level package (it can be a new version) you will not use up your validation, it will be saved.
Re: please help!! DTG ejecting before print happens
I dont have any problems using corel draw with my machine. In fact I have installed on my computer Illustrator, photshop and corel draw and I always print from corel draw without a problem. As I said earlier in the thread as long as you convert your file to bitmap before printing, it prints very efficiently and quik, then I just undo the conversion after I print.

Well what I encountered today was with having a vector layer in Photoshop. I don't use Corel. The kiosk was not responding or working all morning. As soon as I deleted the vector layer, it was as if nothing was wrong. It's crazy.
Re: please help!! DTG ejecting before print happens
Corel does some weird stuff when printing to a postscript. Try printing with a bunch of Pantone colors and watch how easy it is for the colors to fall out of gamut. I have been told that it has to do with Corel's interperation of the Pantone charts. We have had to create some work arounds on the hybrid side of the business because of Corel.
The other negative thing about Corel is that you can open a graphic that was created in one color space and not assign a color space to it while in Corel. If you try to print this, the colors can come out incorrect. If you convert it to a bitmap, it will ask you assign it to RGB space. You can use Corel's color management, but that brings up a bunch of other issues. In counter, when you open a file in PhotoShop, it asks you upfront if you want to keep the embedded profile, change it or discard it. This is why most people can usually get better prints from PhotoShop compared to Corel - especially when dealing with non-vector based graphics (i.e. photos). Not saying that it is not possible, just easier with Photoshop.
Good to hear that you are up and running. Best wishes.
