Default question about dampers

Do all dtg printers have dampers that need to be cleaned? I know it sounds dumb to ask but I have only researched this are on the kiosk and hm1 and am curious if all of the machines have dampers and not just dtg.

thanks so much for the info in advance

Bobbie

Thanks Marc, I knew you would know the answer. Someone asked this of me today and I had just assumed they all did and because I had not really checked out the mechanics of the other machines, low and behold I did not know the answer hehe. So the filters, are they built in to the cartriges? if so that I bet is a money saver. I was going to buy an extra set of dampers for my machine and the are $59 ea. x 8 of course, but they said they are coming out with a new system and to wait because it is much more efficient than the dampers they have now. We will see , as I finally get my machine on sept. 4th. See I told you I would use your valuable help hehe.

have a great night

Bobbie

Marc,
on the t-jet, does the bulk ink system basically run through a modified epson cartrige (where the Damper would normally be)that sits on top of the head, or is the "cartrige" farther up the line towards the ink bottles? I guess I never looked that close to the t-jet

It is a modified epson style cartridge that sits in the same location as factory epson carts. I actually prefer the carts. They do not seem to clog up as much as my damper based printers.

Thanks Marc. I went to the epson site and saw their video on the inner workings, including the damper system. It would be interesting to see if they have the same mesh in theirs, or if this is just something that has be added to accomodate the titanium dioxide particles.

All of the bulk ink systems I have owned(DTG, non DTG, color, white, etc...) have had some filtering mechanism, either in the cartridge itself, or in the dampers.

If I remember correctly, even the factory Epson carts I have "dissected" had filters.

The dampers are what the bulk ink tubes connect to. The dampers then connect to the nipples on the head. I do not remember if the T3 is carts or dampers.

Thanks gang,
hehe see I told you I would ask. It was actually a good question, I had no idea that these parts were different depending on what kind of ink system they have.

i imagine the blazer has dampers.

the kornit is a bit different. it has a different head for each color. each head has a dedicated vacuum controlled ink feed system.

last i heard there were no operational hv's in the field, but I believe that it uses individual heads.

Debz breifly showed me the Kornit, this morning. She was SUPPOSED to find a place that gave some more detail and print up the pages for me ...

ROFLMAO ... I swear, if I become the first to purchase the Pro HV, I will kill my dealer! Not looking forward to becoming another guina pig ...
