well ill just make this plain and simple. i have a dtg kiosk that has caused a lot of grief and loss of business over the last year since it was purchased. it is now in fort worth texas being repaired, and im thinking of simply upgrading to the HM-1. are there any former dtg kiosk users that switched to the hm-1 and are satisfied with that machine. ANY INFO IS VERY APPRECIATED (as my dtg kiosk has been out for 3 weeks already, and has another 3 to go)!! THANK YOU!!
Well I do not own either but I did just receive some samples from the HM-1 and I was impressed on the quality prior to washing twice on the black shirt with white inks see my thread below for pictures VersaCamm Or DTG
the colors on black/colored shirts with the dtg kiosk is like a dice game. you have to roll so many times to get what you want. in my personal opinion, for the money the kiosk costs, the quality is not worth the price tag. however, the hm-1 samples looked very very clear and colorful compared to what we have printed with our kiosk. so far +1 for the hm-1
I went and saw both printers print, and I have to say that the hm1 was such better quality of print then the original kiosk. the colors printed way more vibrant than the kiosk. The hm1 puts down twice the amount of ink at a time then the kiosk and you can definately tell the difference in the quality of print.

I think the HM1 also comes with the vibrating white ink container? It looks like they've fixed several things that were a problem with the original Kiosk, such as the tube carriers coming un-glued from the plastic. Also, the HM1 is based on a different print engine which should be a print speed increase of 30% over the standard Kiosk, I'd like to know how realistic that actually is.
We considered upgrading, but they would only give us 5k for our 13k investment several months prior.
when I went to see them, the hm1 was much faster than the origianl kiosk. It does have the white ink agitator(sp?), and it is made with the 4800 print head I believe, the difference in the way the ink is layed down is very noticable, much nicer on the hm1. I just talked to Amy at mesa last night and they are getting thier shippment of machines in this week.
sounds like mesa fixed alota the problems withthe first dtg kiosk, unfortunately our upgrade is probably coming at an outrageous price of 10-12k to get the hm-1. our kiosk is broken and in NOT under warrenty so we are in the process of figuring out what to do. thank you for everyones replies...havent heard 1 negative thing about the hm-1 so they must be top notch. however if you have a critcizism...i would like to hear it!!
The Hm-1 isn't without faults. It hasn't been long enough out in the field to get considerable feedback. There have been reports of faults on the HM-1 already, ink chips, ink starvations etc. I'm sure there will be more but probably less severe then the original Kiosk.
The biggest issue is still there though. White ink!
