Hi I am based in the UK and I'm possibly looking to invest in a DTG HRM 1 machine. I would really appreciate it if I could get some reports from users of either the same or similar machines, first.
Especially Please get in contact if you are a UK based user
Look forward to your replies.

Thanks.

Hi,
We've had a Kiosk for 7 months now, and we're based in the UK.
I'm looking at getting another in the next 6 months, but development seems to have slowed down and the bugs aren't being ironed out as quickly as I'd like - for example the WIMS system - it just doesn't work.
Hi
There's been a discussion about this very subject on the UKSB forum in the last few days.
The general consensus is that they are not really worth the outlay for the time it takes etc
Also, you also have to press afterwards to seal the ink apparently!!
We have just had our Brother GT-541 installed. We have a fair amount of work lined up for it, the first job paid for the first 2 months finance so can't grumble.
Mark

Hi there, I would firstly like to thank you for replying to my query. From your experience with the Kiosk how long on average does it take you to complete a t-shirt from graphic work to completed garment (including Heat press)?
Would you be able to tell me what company you brought the machine from and how you personally rated their service? Good and bad points?
You mentioned that the development of the machines is to slow. What types of problems have you encountered?
I was wondering why you didn't opp to go for the HRM 1 machine instead?
Sorry for all of the questions it's just that I really want to be sure that this is a good investment!
Thank you very much!
Look forward to your reply

Trade rates available if anyone has requirements.

Hi Mark thank you for you reply, could you tell me who you got your machine from and how do you rate their service.
What sort of problems have you encountered and do you not find it limiting that you can only print onto light coloured garments with your machine?
Regards
Ritchie

We bought from GS-UK who also sell Brother embroidery machines. No quibbles with them although to early to comment on aftersales as yet but certainly no problems with the machine.
I think the issue with only being able to print onto light/white garments is a bit of a mental block ie. concentrate on getting work to suit the machine rather than worrying about what it can't do and if work comes in that does require a dark garment, just utilise another technology whether it be transfers, textile vinyl or whatever.
As you are aware there are a number of machines printing white ink, personally our train of thought was that unless you invest in something like a Kornit there was nothing out there that could give you trouble free, non-messy, random results eg. hit and miss pre-treatment production in a commercial environment. We didn't want to spend out time cleaning heads, adjusting artwork etc etc, we just want to import a file, hit print and the job is done. Like I said that was just our perception of where the market is at and no doubt other more experienced users will have a different take on this.

thanks for your reply, I can understand you preception on things. Your advice about getting work that will suit the machine rather than the other way around is very helpful.

Hi Ritchie - how long does it take? How long is a piece of string?
95% of our customers are designers and so artwork is not an issue. Print time obviously is dependent on image size and shirt colour. A decent (250x300mm) colour print on a dark shirt takes about 5 minutes, plus the curing time.
We got our machine from YES Ltd in Nottingham. The staff are nice, friendly and knowledgable, but some of their consumable prices are shocking - £375 for a printhead available elsewhere for £110.
The development issue is more like fine tuning. There were a couple of things on the D1 I commented on in March, and they've not changed it yet.
If you've got the time, stock, patience, and yes, money, the prints are amazing - easily as bright as screenprint (which we also do). Please don't expect this out of the box though!
To answer your other question, I didn't go for the HM1 because it wasn't available at the time!
Cheers
Al

Hi Al thanks for answering my questions.
I was intending to buy my machine from yes ltd as well. I was wondering who the other company was who sale the same consumerables as yes ltd for a cheaper price? If you have a list of other suppliers could you possibly share it with me?
