Do you mean you have a white border around the entire image?
That is usually due to the Rip Pro software. Adjust the 'choke' settings up until you no longer see the border. You'll have to do this for both left and right to get it perfect. The manual has a section on where to find the choke settings.
As for the pre-treatement, practise, practise, practise!
I use the wagner sprayer and do a left -> right pass, then right -> left, then up -> down pass, so the total time you are pre-treating the shirt is about 2.5 seconds. I hold the sprayer about 18" away from the shirt at a downward angle.
After that, get a foam brush and wipe the pre-treated area down, this helps push the pre-treat inside of the threads.
Heat press for about 25-30 seconds. Some do shorter to get a brighter white, I press longer to get a even print.
Then you should be good to go.
Also, I create a seperate highlight layer for the whites and reprint the white area a second time at 1440dpi.
thanks for all your tips, I really appreciate it.
I was talking about the pre treatment which leaves a sheen on the black t shirt.
I will try it today and hold the wagner gun not so close. I will go check pressure on the heat press and temp .
you are certainly right, this is practise all the time, I cant let it beat me gotta learn how to do it right.
thanks for your tips much appreciated
Just had to let you know, I reduced the pressure on the heat press and did everything else you suggested... and thankyou soooo very much, now things are sooo much better, the sheen has gone, due to the pressure on the heat press, and not so fuzzi this time. thanks again

Awesome quality on those shirts Adam! You just motivated me to get the sprayer out and practice my pretreating!

No problem! Let's seem some samples when you get some good prints.
adam, I am now working on the quality of the print... learning constantly.
could you tell me if that black hoodie that you did was 100% cotton or was it a poly blend? if its poly... how did you do that?

The hoodie was a Monster Fleece 80% cotton 20% Poly.
I used Rip Pro, 1 layer of white at 720, 1 layer of white 1440 and then 1 layer of color 720.
