I need to replace the ribbon cable on my HM1. I can usually hold my own on mechanical issues but I can't figure out how to get the old cable out. I have both front and back covers off the machine and I took the bar off that holds the ink lines and guide. I can't follow the ribbon behind the crossmember. It goes into a plastic bracket. It looks like the plastic bracket should slide down and come out but I can't get it to slide. I am worried about applying too much pressure and breaking it.
It looks to me like that plastic bracket has to come out or it will be very difficult to get the cable out and the new one in.
Anyone able to give advice on this?

Update.
I got the plastic bracket to slide but still can't get it out.
What do I need to remove to get to this?

Brian: Not Sure on the Ribbon plug, but wanted to enlighten you on Recycling the Ribbon. We have had ribbons slowly work loose & the "foil" piece work loose. Happened on a Mimaki JV3 & Zapped both the slider board & print head. Sometimes they get damaged from removing & reinstalling.
They can be ReUsed, here is our process:
1) Snip Bad Area Off of Ribbon Cable
2) Gently Scrape the Coating from the Ribbon to Expose contact "FOIL" or Metal

ENSURE THAT YOU DO NOT SCRAPE LIFT OR DETACH CONTACT METAL FROM RIBBON.
