Question How DTG inks works actually?

Did anybody know how dtg inks works? What are the differences between conventional pigment inks and DTG inks? What is the use of heat pressing after printing the image? I find dtg inks (actually they claim their inks are DPP inks / Digital pigment printing inks) that no need any heat pressing after printing. But after I use the inks, the color fade easily. Do anybody ever have experience on this kind of ink?
