Images are many colors so silk screen is not an option.
also can not find bright colored shirts that are not 100% cotton, and I hear I can cad print but only on 50/50, although not loving the white border around the image. Any other choices out there?

It does sound like the digital direct to garment printers would be the ideal solution for you for multi-color bright prints for small quantity orders.
If I read your post correctly, you do have one piece of misinformation. The best garments to print on for these printers are 100% cotton. You can print on 50/50 goods but the imprint will look brighter on 100% cotton garments.
