Default Fading inks????

I got a sample printed at the ISS show and it faded after just one wash???

The sample was printed on the brother GT-541.

Is this the case with all DTG print's?

The short answer is - no.

You will get some slight fading on any new imprint when you wash them - whether they were printed by digital garment printers or screen printing. By the tone of your post I get the impression that the sample shirt you washed faded a lot. If the sample was produced on a Brother 541 then you got a white or light colored shirt without white ink since the 541 is only a CMYK color machine. The Brother inks are unique to Brother. The majority of other printers in the marketplace, including our Veloci-Jet, use DuPont inks. You should not have ink fade issues, especially on white and light colored garments.

Keep in mind that trade shows are a difficult place for exhibitors to insure goods are printed and dried correctly since you are trying to keep an eye on potential customers and an eye on producing goods. In fairness to Brother the sample shirt you got may not have been dried properly.
