Discuss the various aspects of direct to garment printing. DTG printers include Brother, T-Jet, Flexi-Jet, DTG Kiosk, Kornit, Mimaki, Tex-Jet and others! Discuss and learn about this up and coming printing technology.
I think this will vary depending on who you bought the printer from. Some manufacturers / distributors will have different policies. There is an online support forum by DTG Digital for their customers only. It does require you to get a login from your distributor though. So I don't think that is going to help you today unless you already have a login.
Most dtg manufacturers and distributors will provide a customer only support forum (usually more peer-to-peer assistance) and videos that will assist users during non-business hours. However, very few of them will offer 24/7 or after hours support. But I guess that is why this forum is active as well. Unfortunately, if your question(s) can't be answered here during these off times, then you might have to wait till standard business hours.
Thank you! I bought mine through Mesa Dist. and there is no support and so far their forum and this one have not been able to help me. This prob is driving me crazy and I am afraid my print head will clog because I am not able to print. I was hoping there might be some form of support I wasn't aware of.
Why would regular water throw things off?
Inks are water based...? I know if you have a solvent printer, than use water base in it, can mess heads up do to chemical reaction but water base with water would do same...
No I did not. From what I am hearing, it was a pretty good show.

Sean,
The reason for using distilled water compared to tap water is the lack of minerals in distilled water. The minerals can cause problems with the internal components of the print head. Distilled water is actually recommended for lots of products - including an iron (I just prefer not to use the iron whenever possible). Most people recommend using a 1:1 ratio of cleaning solution and distilled water if you are going to use something other than cleaning fluid.
The ISS show was great! I got some great software from Digital Art Solutions! I spoke with another HM1 user and he is pretty sure it is my white ink chip. Even though it shouldn't be...he thinks that's it. Thank you for all your help.
Actually the minerals in the water will react with most inks to cause them to "crash" in the same way that the pre-treatment does. Trust me on this one - I've seen it - more than once. Any questions about it. Take some of your ink (colors or white) and drop it into some tap water and see what happens.
