Anyone else have trouble with SEF MESA from Ft Worth and their machine?
I first bought a refurb HM-1 Kiosk from Mesa out of Fort Worth late last year, immediatly started having print problems, paid for an upgrade and got a new machine. Worked fine for about a month and print quality declined. After about four print head changes, several capping stations, dampers and mother boards, I had to pay to have a tech come out. He was here for three visits, and they even took the machine to their offices, said it was fixed and returned it but the print was still as bad, and had more problems. The tech replaced numerous mother boards, print heads, ink lines, cables, dampers, capping stations..even filtered the ink through coffee filters (OMG). Nothing. Still bad, cant get a good nozzle check. Red prints with pools and streaks of yellow in it. Its horrible. Anyway...at first they said they would replace my 7 month old machine with a new one, then said they would give a refurb machine. Which I just think is unaccepatable! Ive not been able to print for over a month, had to cancel contrats, cant afford to pay rent, had to give refunds, and now I have to pay to send back shirts orders have sent to me. I also had to close down my month old wesbite..so thats alot of money and time lost right there. And they think they are losing money? Come on. Im wondering if anyone else has had problems or similar problems, im looking to bring a class action suit against them. They have a ISS show coming up in Fort Worth that I really want to make a voice at. Please let me know.

What is the humidity level in the location where you are running the machine? Why did they replace the motherboards - were they damaged during a printhead change? Are you using the inks from Mesa? It would be nince to know more of the situation so that a fair assesment can be made.
Re: Anyone else have trouble with SEF MESA from Ft Worth and their machine?
Never had a humidity problem before, was never an issue. The mother boards, cables, ink lines, dampers, capping station and Mesa inks have all been changed five or six times. The tech actually pulled out 4 heads, and only one of them worked. Those were straight from the supply line. Every consumable part on the machine has been changed at least twice in the past two weeks, and still no progress.
Re: Anyone else have trouble with SEF MESA from Ft Worth and their machine?
Have you checked the electrical supply to the printer? It sounds like something is going on beyond normal printer issues. Has the power supply in the machine been changed?
Re: Anyone else have trouble with SEF MESA from Ft Worth and their machine?
They took the machine to their headquarters a week ago...Im not sure if they tried that or not. They said it was fine, drove it back to me, plugged it in and nope...same old same old. Its getting good power, dont know if its surging or not, but it seems to me there is some gremlin in it.

I'll probably get in trouble for trying too hard to diagnose here, but we have not had 3 out of box failures of Epson printheads over 4 1/2 years! I'm inclined to think that something is causing the heads/boards to fail, probably power related, either internal or from the source.
Keep us updated as to what they figure out is the problem. Sorry to hear that you are having issues with the machine, the HM1-C has been very reliable for us.

Ive heard that they have been for everyone, I lean to think that its something electrical in the system and its just a lemon.. I dont think its all the machines, but this one is definatly one for the record books. Its putting me out of business. had to close the website and the doors on friday. Cant afford to pay rent...and still have jobs to return not to mention the contracts I had to turn down and cancel. Its a tough spot to be in right now.
Re: Anyone else have trouble with SEF MESA from Ft Worth and their machine?
The final item my service technicians have to do when they finish fixing a printer here is to fill out a service form and list what the problem (problems) was that they found and what they did to fix it. A copy of this form is given to the customer. Since your printer was taken in for repair and then returned your paperwork should say what they found wrong with the unit and what repairs were then made to it?
Re: Anyone else have trouble with SEF MESA from Ft Worth and their machine?
I got no paperwork, or no explination of anything that was done to the machine while it was in fort worth. Another good question to ask them. thanks for the post.
Re: Anyone else have trouble with SEF MESA from Ft Worth and their machine?
I also did get receipt of parts and what they did on paperwork when they came to my location to repair my printer. I would definately ask them about that.

Pretty standard practice, our techs are required to write up a work order for each repair they do, in warranty or not. It is signed by the tech and the customer (in the case of a pick up) and then scanned into our client system for future reference.

I have had the same issues out of Ft. Worth. I've been waiting for over three hours for them to call me back and tell me what they are going to do about the second Kiosk II that is not working again. I live to hours away and have had no luck with the two machines they have given me. It seems they are ripping people off at the tune of $12,000 a piece. I have lost thousands on orders because of their equipment. I'm sure you and I are not the only ones getting burned.
