Default Flexi or T-Jet

Hi all, I'm a newbie and currently trying to decide on a machine. Through my research I've found that Brother, DTG-Brand, & Neoflex (still quite new) look the best, but a little out of the price range I wanted to start out with. This business will start as sidework which will hopefully turn into a fulltime business which at that time I will upgrade, but for just starting out I want to go with a cheaper machine to learn the ins and outs of the business. I found a T-Jet 3 and Flexi Jet (2005) in the price range I want, but I have reservations about each one. I've seen negative feedback on both but more so on the T-Jet 3. And then yesterday I read that the manufacturer went out of business! Is there any point in trying to purchase one now? Is there anyone I can buy supplies from or get technical help on this if something ever goes wrong? And with the Flexi Jet, will the 2005 model print on darks? Good Support with them? Any help will be appreciated...

Hi, You can still get very good support and all the spares for the T-Jet 3 from equipmentzone. The machine is not bad for the money but they can be a little temprimental if it's not had any of the upgrades.

You would be better trying to find a T-Jet blazer, there are quite a few around at similar prices and its a much better machine. We are in the UK so probably not much use to you on this matter.

Hope this helps.

There is still good support for the Flexi-Jet, and YES if you obtain the RIP you will be able to print on darks. And the Flexi-Jet manufactor is still in business.
Which model is it and how much?

It is hard to tell by the pictures as far as it's condition (Flexi), and it does not say if the RIP comes with it or not, you will need more information before you purchase it or any other DTG printer.

there are the links
i think this site is for businesses that didn't make it and is all repossesed stuff so the prices are hard to beat but we'll be taking a chance because the sellers have no knowledge of the equipment. I thought the software would be able to download for free like a plugin, if not how much do you think? and would you make a purchase like this considering the risk?
also, which looks like the deal? the flexi?

The T-Jet 3 doesn't look like it's in great condition. Here's something that you should know.

One of the main circuit boards for the T-Jet 3, known as the C-Board, is no longer available. In the event the C-Board on the T-Jet 3 you wanted to buy ever broke you would have no way of ever repairing your machine.

In any case, on either machine, the repairs and replacement parts needed would run at least $1,000, and possibly much more.

Hope this was helpful.

General rule is - if it looks too good to be true - it is. As a newbie I would suggest that you buy from a dealer who can provide you with servie, training and support, even if it is a used/refurb you purchase. There is too much to learn and the net result in savings will quickly be lost with growing pains.
