Too many washes to count... That t-shirt was a favourite of my son. If i had to count I would say easily over 70 times its been washed but it would more than that.
The t-shirt is cracked, i will upload other t-shirts that are over 1 year old and been though the washing machine lots of time, if people are interested.
I remember when I first started printing I printed a Hulk Logan T-shirt and Monster Shane T-shirt for two of my kids and the picture pealed right off the t-shirt. That was when I was starting out.
I own The Kiosk 2. I just had it upgraded by installing the WIMS kit on it.
Its a huge difference now, what use to take me around 1 hour to get the machine in good working mode only takes me now 5mins to get it in great working mode.
I think to get long lasting images from your t-shirt comes down to the pre treatment and the type material your t-shirt is made from. I now print on AAA t-shirts which are 220GSM (adults) for kids I print on AAA t-shirts which are 205GSM those T-shirts I seem to get the best results from.
I remember when you posted those pics of the Hulk as your son I too have a bunch of shirts that have held up well over a long period of time. Its all in the pretreatment and curing I will try to find some of mine as well post pics. I know my husband has a ton so it should not be too hard to find them.

Is there anything to help prevent cracking? Or is that just part of the life cycle?
I remember when I was a kid, we went to hawaii, and my mom bought me this hideous tie died shirt with a dolphin on it.. it was my favorite shirt.. Until the dolphin peeled off in chunks after one or two washes.. I remember how crushed I was lol
Annnyway, lol, I have a couple shirts purchased from retail that have cracked and I dont wear them anymore because of it, the feel that is.. I'd hate to have a customer not want to wear my shirt anymore..
thanks guys for taking a interest.... I'll try and answer everything in this one post....please excuse my typo errors......
I remember you sunnydayz, i based my choice of dtg machine on reading alot of your post messages and don-swf east messages. I'll be keen to see some of your before and after prints.

I don't think you can prevent cracking. All my t-shirts including store brought ones do crack and peal over time. Some last longer than others.

After so many washes may i ask what type of ink did you use .....That it last so long and look so good??
at the time of printing those tshirts i was using normal inks from dtgdigital. I now use the new bright inks from dtgdigital..

my mother brought me a tshirt that was tie died dark purple and light purple from hawaii and i loved it..... had a tiki on it and like your one it pealed off within a few washes.... that was in the early 90s when i got my tshirt..
I noticed that a lot of place here in Australia are trying to pass laser transfer prints off as DTG prints and a lot of the laser transfer cracks and fades in one wash.
I've brought a few laser transfer t-shirts from two shops here in Sydney and if people are being told that they are DTG prints, I can understand why people would stay away from buying DTG printing.
Not saying that their not crap DTG printing out there, but there are a lot of places doing a lot non DTG printing and trying to pass it off as DTG printing.
What does that have to do with this post? Nothing really I thought I'll just add that bit of information.

I use a normal spy gun that i got with the printer. I just can't see how you can save money with a pretreater machine unless you are doing high volume printing. I was told for a pretreater machine you may be looking at $4000.00 Australian dollar.

Kia Ora Rangituhaha,
Yep from the Mainland.
You are doing some really nice work, keep it going.
Yeah I know Greg very well. I just got my WIMS from him for the Flexi jet, hope to get back to some white ink printing and start making some money from it.
When I next see Greg I will past this thread on to him, he will be chuffed I am sure!
