Impossible to tell with a photo. If it's a widely distributed garment, then probably not. DTG is not cost effective on large runs.

i have seen this type of art work on 80s metal band tees i have a few pieces of art work that resemble this style and would like them printed but cant figure out which route to take with printing.

it just seems impossible to print theses by screen printing.

What gives you that impression?

There are MANY different types of screen printing processes. It's not all hard feeling prints or simple 1-4 color graphics

Here's an example of a wide variety of screen printed graphics:

I did a little research on this particular shirt and I found the company that distributes that t-shirt. You may be able to contact them to confirm, but I'm 98% sure this is screen printing. Probably water based or discharge printing.

I would suggest buying one of the shirts and actually getting your hands on it. My guess is that it is a screenprint - but whether it is water based, discharge w/water based or plastisol is hard to tell without actually seeing and touching the garment.

It could also very well be a plastisol transfer. I have a few of these lying around, and most of the 80's heavy metal bands t-shirts where done with transfers.
