Smile INKJETS PRINTERS and PROCESS

I have corel draw and i have been desinging my own t-shirts on this thing for the past couple of month just messing around. I am really starting to get into this not only is it fun but some people have told me that i should sell them. I am trying to understand some of these injet printers and there cost becuase I want a printer that is wide enough to print some of my larger desings onto t-shirts and just heat press the image onto it. What is a good printer not a cheap one but a good printer that will allow me to print from my computer heat transfers? Do you need a special printer to print that special heat transfer paper? Do i need a wide printer for bigger than standard designs (cuase a normal 12inch by 8 inch printer aint gonna do)? How do these ink jet printers work for the sake of making t-shirts? Is what i'm talking about even feasable...lol

any replies would be appreciated

Default Re: INKJETS PRINTERS and PROCESS

A standard Epson printer (2400, 1800, 1900, 1400) will give you 13 x 20 transfers (though most transfer papers come in 11 x 17). If this is big enough you could buy one of these. You will be limited to light colored shirts and probably look at a cost of $2-4 per transfer depending on coverage and the volume of transfer paper you buy. If you plan on doing dark garments you may want to look into a direct to garment printer.
