We're a Spanish Tshirt company and we'd like to purchase a DTG.

We are interested in T-Jet Blazer and HM1 Kiosk.

I meet last week with a T-Jet dealer in Spain. We deal together since 15 years ago. I went to their office to talk about machine and blah blah....and he told me "I know you since a lot of years ago and you must see one thing. Come with me...."

We entered on another room with ¡¡3 T-Jet from 2008 all wires, motherboards,.....out.

He told me DTGs are a BIG problem. Example, one of the T-Jet began to print a design with a white line. Screenprinters told him problem will be motherboard. So they ordered and....problem is there again.

"I don't want to sell you a DTG beacuse I don't want problems with you as we're friends".

But I think T-jets from 2009 are much better, doesn't?

Now, in other hand, a rep of DGT HM1 kiosk visit us last week. He told me machine do an automatic operation to keep the cartridge and/or wire fresh to avoid dry ink and blah blah.....They sold 60 DGT last years and almost of them works with no problem.


And we've just discover M&R has developed i-Dot and it seems graphics are great! But you know, new machine, no experienced users to know if is ok,.....


Sooooooooooo.............what is your tip?


Our goal is do a few realistc wildlife designs for ALL tshirts colors and 20-80 pieces per design.

I can't speak for the T-Jet but I have an HM1 and am quite happy with it. I bought it last fall and have not had any problems with it at all. I am anal with cleaning and maintenance though. I doubt that there is a printer out there that will hold up under neglectful use. That said, there are possibilities for issues even under the best of circumstances. Do both of the printers you are looking at offer servce in Spain? If not that would be a concern for me as shipping out of the country would cost a lot and require a long down time likely costing more than the shipping in lost work.
If you are a screen printer then an alternative to buying a printer is to look at outsourcing the short runs.

P.S. I have just had my first major issue and have had to replace the head. It has been less than a year but I have learned something to not do...
