Default dark garment printing

How do you keep your colors vibrant when printing on dark garments? I am using an Anajet printer & inks. The art looks great after printing, but after heat pressing they are very dull and the surface is shiny. I've tried many different ink settings and keep getting the same results. I even tried letting the garment dry for 24 hours before pressing, but that didn't help. I would appreciate any help?? Thanks-

What temperature and time are you using on your heat press? Pressure? What type of cover sheet are you using?

I press for 90 seconds @ 330 degrees. I don't know how to exactly measure pressure, however, I'm using a Geo Knight and always make certain that it sort of "clicks" --- if you know what I mean. I am using parchment as a cover.

I press mine for a minute forty at 350 degrees and they come out great. My heat press can either be shut all the way or it can sorta hovers, when pressing black I use the hover setting.

have you tested how well they wash? I thought you had to have proper pressure to ensure the colors would stay???

For dark garments with white ink you should be pressing for 2.5 to 3 minutes at low pressure for washability. You should be using silicone coated parchment paper as a cover sheet. Regular parchment paper is not recommended and should only be used to press the pretreatment.

I have washed the shirts and they are fine. I precoat press hard for a forty seconds, lay the print then do the hover press for a minute forty and no problem.
