Discuss the various aspects of direct to garment printing. DTG printers include Brother, T-Jet, Flexi-Jet, DTG Kiosk, Kornit, Mimaki, Tex-Jet and others! Discuss and learn about this up and coming printing technology.
I'm still not sure I understand the difference in inks. What exactly is bright or light ink. I have a Kiosk with white ink. What should I be using? Thanks!
Kim,I have the kiosk also, where do you buy your inks? Mine are coleman & co. and I switched to the hm1 inks, they seem to be working will. If you are running the white ink then you have no use for the light colored inks those bottles should have white in them. Hope this helps.
Kim you should have 4 bottles 1 with cyan, black, magenta and yellow the other 3 bottles should be for white ink. Those bottles are the ones labeled light cyan, light magenta and light black.
Your Kiosk printer is available as a seven color printer using the following colors:
cyan, magenta, black, yellow, light cyan, light magenta, light black. You'll notice that the printhead on your printer has seven different dampers or cartridges. Each cartridge or damper was for one of these colors.
This version is for printing on white and light colored shirts only.
The Kiosk version you have is for printing white ink and colors. You still have seven dampers or cartridges in your printhead. However the three dampers or cartridges for the light colors are now using white ink instead. You should have 3 tubes coming out of your white ink bottle going to those dampers/cartridges.
So you would need to only have the following colors for your printer:
cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and white.
Thanks Harry, That explains it better. Can you tell me if the ink you sell will work in my dtg printer. I get confused when everyone talks about Dupont Ink. Also please explain the difference in the pretreaments you carry. Thanks!
The FastINK ink that we carry will work in your DTG printer.
The different pretreatments are:
• White Pretreatment - for use on dark colored garments printed with white ink. White Pretreatment should only be used with medium to dark colored garments due to possible discoloration of light shirts when exposed to direct sunlight.
• FastBright Pretreatment - for use with light and medium colored garments that are printed with white ink. FastBright will not discolor on light shirts when exposed to direct uv sunlight.
• FastCOLOR - reduces cure times and increases the color brilliance and washability of the print. This pretreatment is designed for use with images on white and light colored shirts with NO white ink.
Hi Harry, I was in your web site. Explain the heat press paper. Which do you use when. I have always used the silicone paper for both pretreatment and the final curing. Do any of your replacement parts like capping station etc. work in the DTG?
Plain parchment paper is used when drying pretreatment after applying it on your garment. Silicone paper should be used when drying finished prints. I think you will get better results if you use the 2 different types.
All the replacement parts for the T-Jet 1 and 2 printers will also work on the DTG Kiosk printer.
