I hope this hasn't been covered before-I searched and didn't really find an answer. As a new
DTG printer/designer (don't actually have the machine yet), I'm wondering is it better to price shirts with the art charges tacked onto the per shirt price, or is it better to give the customer a per shirt price and then a separate art charge? I am a designer and believe most, if not all, of my customers will NOT have any artwork, so will be needing that created. I have designed many T-shirts over the years, lots of times as favors for someone to take to their printer, so I know the time involved can vary greatly depending on what the customer needs/wants. But I also know that in my area, art/design work is not valued at all. So, if I hit someone with say a $200 art charge, they might freak out. So, I'm thinking in almost all cases it is better to factor in the art charges you think will cover your time and add that into the per shirt price. How do you do it? Thanks.
