Default Digital printing and embroidery

Hello

I have 2 questions. I do have an embroidery machine and do it basically as a hobby.

There is definitely an art to embroidery, and feel there are many more talented people out there then me to actually make it as a business.

Anyways, I was thinking about the GT 541, small learning curve, (have graphic design experience) and good market for small runs, full color, affordable product to supply. however, does it get boring? shirt in, press the botton, heat press, shirt in, press button heat press... ect....

My other thought ..... has anyone ever tried printing a design and then doing some embroidery over part to enhance the design?

When it stops be fun, it becomes a job.
I'm retired and looking for something to do.

Thanks

We saw a sample of this on canvas as artwork over at Mesa Distributors. Basically, create a registration mark on each, print the image and then sew over it with a cross stitch or photo stitch. It looked pretty good.

This type of mixed media application is growing in popularity.

I took some photos on my phone when walking through a local store last night.

A Lebron James t-shirt where his face was screen printed and the nike swoosh on his headband was direct embroidery. Very cool.

I bought a tshirt from Design by humans Design By Humans T-shirts - New T-shirt designs everyday - Medusa Monkey Version by cmarts

Where the beard of the monkey is embroided black in some parts. Sadly the black faded a little bit and so now it looks weird cause the embroided part is too dark. An example of where it might go wrong.
