Question Making my own DTG.

Hello, I have a questions that someone may be able to answer for me.
I have a Epson 2200 stylus printer and I was wondering if anyone knows of any plans available online to convert it into my own low cost dtg? I've been doing some searching and have found that most the heads used in the dtgs are epson. I think that the pigment ink that they make for epson would work well, still I would run into the problem only being able to print on white n lite colored shirts. So if anyone could help me out that would be great. Peace

If you do a search in the direct to garment printing section of the forum for diy dtg or even just type it in the search box at the top of the page, you will find a huge thread that members have done while they are working on a do it yourself project dtg printer. There are plans on there for building a dtg out of the c88 printer but I think also info has been added for epson printers as well. Its a long read but you will find a ton of info on that thread. Hope this helps

The standard Epson inks are made for printing on to paper. To print on to fabric, you need special inks that have binders in them that will allow the ink to adhere to the fabric. This is why the people that are using the Epson inks to print on shirts use an inkjet transfer paper that has a polymer (i.e. adhesive) on the paper. The polymer glues the ink to the top of the shirt.

Here is the DIY DTG post that was talked above - http://www.t-shirtforums.com/direct-...ng/t32499.html.
