Hey all;
Just wondering how many times do you run your t-shirts thru? What ink settings do you use? We just changed over to the brite inks and really didn't make a difference. We still run thru 2 times on 720/720. The major problem is we have bleed thru on 6.1 cotton shirts. Can other
DTGers let me know what they do. Thanks
I just spoke with your operator, Josh, about this. If your prints are not bright enough with one pass at vivid darker setting or 2 passes at photo normal, then the problem may be in the artwork itself. I would suggest printing a color palette from your software (I beleive you are using Corel) at one pass vivid darker and 2 pass photo normal and do your color matching from there.
One last hting I forgot to ask Josh - are you printing on 50/50 or 100% cotton? If it is 50/50 you may want to try our fabric pre-treatment, fact of the matter, it also makes images pop on 100% cotton better as well.
Hey Don,
I have been talking to Josh and wanted to get a feel from other users. We only print on 100% cotton unless gray. We are going to print a shirt half way with 2 passes and 1/2 way with 1 pass and send to you. I promise you will see a great difference. This area has a couple of screen printers we compete with so the quality of the shirts and the colors need to be top notch.
Jimmy, I didn't see the benefits of the new white ink until I changed the print head. It seems that several months and thousands of shirts with the old ink had somehow restricted the flow.
After changing the head, a single pass would pool up on the shirt to the point where you had to wait for it to settle before printing the color layer on top.
Also, if you are getting bleed through it's because you are putting 2 layers of white down and possibly not enough pre-treat (or your pre-treat is not completely dry).
