Discuss the various aspects of direct to garment printing. DTG printers include Brother, T-Jet, Flexi-Jet, DTG Kiosk, Kornit, Mimaki, Tex-Jet and others! Discuss and learn about this up and coming printing technology.
Does anyone have a video or can point me to a site where they have DTG showing the entire process?
hi,
does anybody know if the brother dtg is comming out with a machine that can print on black shirts. I hear so many good things about printing on white shirts. If the brother machine is comming out with one that will print both I might as well wait.
I dont see the brother coming out with anything that can print white ink anywhere in the future, as the rep at the last show I went to told me that when they can come up with a white ink that prints as easy as their color ink is when they will come out with it, well that just tells me never because white ink will never print as well as color. There is alot of work in printing white ink. as far as cmyk alot of people focus on the brother for light garments but I have to say before I purchased my hm1 I looked at the brother and was not that impressed with the product it put out after wash testing it. If any of the other machines were running only cmyk you would see the same if not better quality on light shirts as you do with the brother. I know if I set up my machine for dual cmyk, I would have lights that I think would print quicker than the brother and in my opinion better quality with cheaper ink costs. That is just my opinion though and the best thing to do is go to a show and see all of the machines from different vendors print, get samples to take home and wash test and then you can see for your self.
thanks so much for all your help and patience with me. I'm taking it all in. Now I'm comparing it to the heat transfers. (silkscreen transfers) ex. american eagle transfers, transferexpress.com... did you at all look into the heat transfer part of it?
I was doing heat transfers before I bought my dtg. I wanted something that had a little better quality and an larger range of printing for myself without being limited and that is why I bought my dtg. hope this helps

yes all your postings along with everybody else's post helps out alot. I have a meeting with DTG HM1 dealer comming up in Sacramento. I'm excited to see this in action. I asked the rep if the HM1 can print on ribbed tanks aka wife B's he claims it can. have you printed on a ribbed tank top?
yes you can print on them. I havent printed on them yet myself but have seen some things that have been printed on them and from what I seen they looked nice. The best thing to print on is any type of material that is a natural fiber, the ribbed tanks are 100% cotton so they should print well.
