you just have to watch the want ads and forums, ebay craigs lists..etc...but buyer beware..the DTG biz is still on 2nd or so generation..maybe 3rd..but a lot of maint. must be done. and a lot of folks get burned on the $$ invested and return on investment. Others do well. But I would sure be quite cautious when buy a used unit..read about DTG here and I think there is a forum for that portion of the buisness..seek it out and study closely

Just make sure that the warranty (if one) can be transferred over to you and go getting the proper training. Education is the key to success for any application.

Exclamation Re: DTG Printer

Thank you very much Charles. I will take heed to you advice and maybe for now I'll just stick with heat transfer tees. I have a Roland desktop printer cutter, the PC-12, but the print quality is not always reliable even with new cartridges, and it get rather tedious when you have to manually "trace" an image you want done. Sometimes the project needs to be reprinted due to a poor print job. So any more suggestions or advice you can pass would be very greatly appreciated. Will talk to you again.

I myself have a HM1 dtg printer, and I agree that you should really do your homework before you purchase so that you know what it entails to own one. It is not something you can just print with when you need it. There is mainenance that needs to be done and it also really needs to be printed with daily. I love my dtg as I did plenty of research before purchasing and I was more than ready for the commitment it would take from me to keep it running smoothly. I have not run into the issues you will read about but I have also done everything to make sure I dont. I absolutely love the quality and detail my printer puts out and it has made in my opinion a much better quality product for my business. I think it would be hard to find a used machine for a good price and it might be wise that you consider buying one that a used machine could have its problems if the warranty has expired, they are usually only for one year. But if you dont mind the maintenance and really are interested in dtg than do your research and learn all you can before purchasing. hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Bobbie
